Politics in Corruption

Written by Mr Anown

Corruption is a subject on which parties only appear to seek votes. After coming to power, the direction of his steps changes. The truth is that they also taste the same sweet on which other flies were sitting. Corruption in the country is like the termite that hollows out the wood. And to suit the current structure of the country, only those who are addicted to sweets are capable of changing this country. Let’s remove termites from the wood 🪵🐜.

Definition and Reality of Corruption

“Corruption is the abuse of one’s authority or power by an individual or organisation and being dishonest in one’s work.” Cheating or betraying your country to fulfil your selfishness and greed is like committing treason. It is not that there are no exceptions. They are found everywhere. But all the corrupt people beat hands according to their means.

In the beginning of the job, some are already prepared with hand and face washed. As if their sole goal has been to get a job, which is now fulfilled. Some compromise with time. And the rest are exceptions. The elders have to pay the price to the younger ones by being too quick and quiet.

The truth is that no person in the country is untouched by corruption. Irrespective of whether he has any authority or power or not. This is because both the wrongdoer and the one who witnesses the wrong are equally responsible. And here both (bribe taker and giver) are doer due to being active participants. The person who is taking bribes is responsible because he is the main doer or the person who is giving bribes has become an equal participant in the corruption because of his involvement in the work.

How did the Corruption start?

For a long time by playing the politics of discrimination kings had been ruling Indians. By playing this politics more well, the invaders looted India by ruling the country. When the tide of time turns then again the kings of India ascend the throne. But till this time there was always a dispute between the king and his brothers regarding the throne. Due to which there was a rift in each other’s relationships. Brother always used to find ways to remove his brother from the throne. This was the situation of the entire country.

The British took advantage of this. By making brothers fight with each other, himself usurped their kingdom. In this way he established his dominance over the entire country. In 1793, the Zamindari system was implemented by Cornwallis. Due to this, the British collected tax on our lands from our own people, our lands were grabbed by them. This made us poverty-stricken and divided among ourselves.

In 1835, William Bentinck implemented the English Education Act. Whose main objective was not to implement the new education system but to destroy our Gurukuls. Our Gurukulas were destroyed on the suggestion of Macaulay. All the evils in the country like dowry system, unemployment, corruption, alcoholism, slaughter house etc. are all due to the British.

Important

Of course corruption started by the British, from here people became corrupt. After independence, the Prime Minister could have changed it but he did not do so. With the passage of time the country became rich and with the prosperity corruption is also spreading its roots. That is why the poverty-stricken are always exploited and the rich are the main cause of corruption.

What is the Root Cause of Corruption?

Corruption is basically of three types. First, by giving bribes through officials and bureaucrats to the ministers or directly to the ministers. Second, by giving money directly to the party fund and thirdly by private institutions (mainly school and hospital) to loot. The third one is not counted, but they also take advantage of compulsion. Second for the rich and on the third both are robbed.

First, a bribe is given to get the work done faster. If you don’t do this, your work will take many years to complete. On the second one, money is given for carrying out big work and on the third one, money is given for the future. The second and third are converted to a single number. No one can get trapped here because laws have been made to do so. He does not need any accountability on depositing money in the party fund. This means, they do not need to tell where the party money came from because it is a law.

India’s richest political party

Everyone talks about the richest people of India. But no one tells which is the richest political party in India. ADR means association for democratic reforms which is a political NGO. According to their published report, Congress comes at number 3 with assets worth Rs 588 crore. BSP comes at number 2 with 614 crores. BJP comes on number 1 who has assets worth 4847 crores. This is the official data declared by political parties.

Even though we are behind the developed countries in everything, we are at the forefront in the world in spending on elections. India has set a record for conducting the world’s costliest elections in 2019. On an average of Rs 700 was spent on one vote. A total of Rs 55-60 thousand crores was spent. BJP was first in spending and Congress was second. The ruling party in India has always been richer and spendthrift. Even at the time of Congress, Congress was the richest.

Process of Corruption

Out of every rupee targeted for welfare, only 15 paise reaches the beneficiary. These words of Rajiv Gandhi highlight the truth of corruption. Even though Prime Minister Modi ji has said that now the entire money reaches the accounts of the common people. But this is not the complete truth, this half reality is only to mislead. In every government facility, one has to pay a bribe of 60 paise to get the documents properly processed. So does all the money actually reach the people?

How to Stop Corruption?

It seems impossible to eliminate corruption. In fact it is nothing more than a tough challenge. If all the people of the country do their work honestly and sincerely then this work is not difficult. If this proposal is put before everyone, it is not possible for everyone to accept it. Because everyone has a different personality.

When the British came to our country and travelled all over India to test the personality of the people, they found that all are very honest, dedicated to the country and loyal to their work. It was a very challenging task for him to capture the entire country and change the attitudes of the people by propagating evils to everyone. But the only difference between them and us is that they were united and we are divided.

Demonetisation

Even though it caused damage to the economy. But the bureaucrats and leaders, covered with money, stood in trouble. If we take this work one step further and automate only Rs 50, 20, 10 notes. Through this, corruption can be reduced to a great extent. This will just increase the dependence on online money transfer. For this, the government has to ensure that everyone has a smartphone and knows how to use online transfers properly. It is not difficult in today’s time.

Minimalistic system

A minimal system has to be developed so that people’s work is completed in the least possible time without giving bribes. Police come to the house on a phone call. Some other similar system will have to be developed. You can get electricity, water connection on a phone call in Punjab. Anyway, the government is using it online in many areas. I should be used everywhere. Attention should also be paid to the use of new technology such as A.I.

Change in electoral process

All types of elections should be held at the same time. Especially the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, because these are big elections. This will save everyone’s (Government, Parties, Public) money and time. The present government is also considering this. This will also have a direct impact on corruption. Because money will be saved for all the three.

Continuous subtle changes in the system of the country are capable of changing the attitude and thinking of the people of the country. Prime Minister Modi has brought changes in many laws which the country has approved. Similarly, we need some other important changes. In which change in the education system is the main thing. With this, change is possible not only in corruption but also in other areas. Because education is the foundation of any country and it is capable of giving a new direction to the country. I will discuss this in detail in the next article.

Thanks 😊
